What's inside
Every trip to the thrift store, post office or estate sale is business driving. This Mileage & Expense Tracker logs it in miles or kilometres, applies your country's mileage rate and keeps your business expenses in one place. You get clean totals for each tax year.
What it does
- Mileage Log: date, vehicle, from/to, purpose, then odometer readings OR a typed distance (with a round-trip option). Parking and tolls are added on top
- Rate presets you can edit: US IRS 2026 (including the 1 July rate change), UK HMRC 2026-27 (55p up to 10,000 miles, then 25p), Canada CRA 2026, Australia ATO cents-per-km, Germany, plus custom km and mile rates
- Tiered rates are split automatically, even when one trip crosses the limit. The limit can count all vehicles together or each vehicle separately
- Log in km and claim in miles, or the other way round: distances are converted for you
- Tax year starts on any date (e.g. 6 April UK, 1 July Australia)
- Expenses tab: any currency converted to your home currency, 14 editable categories, VAT/sales tax, business-use % for mixed costs like a phone plan, and missing-receipt alerts
- Dashboard: trips, distance, mileage deduction, parking & tolls, deductible expenses, total deductions, how much distance is left at the higher rate, a month-by-month table, expenses by category and trips by purpose, with 2 charts
- Room for 500 trips and 300 expenses

Is this tax advice?

Does it work on a Mac or iPad?
Yes. Open it in Excel for Mac, Apple Numbers, or Google Sheets in your browser or the Google Sheets app on iPad. No macros, so nothing is blocked.
Can I use it in Google Sheets for free? Do I need Excel?
You don't need Excel. Upload the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets, which is free with a Google account. It also works in Excel 2010 or newer, LibreOffice and Numbers.
Is it a one-time payment?

Does it work for Canada (CAD and metric units)?
Yes. The currency symbol is editable, and you can use metric units (grams, kilograms, centimeters, kilometers) where the sheet asks for units. Prices on this site are in USD; your card converts automatically.
Can I share or resell the file?
The license is for one person or one business. Please don't share, resell or redistribute the file.
